“Rules of acceptable behavior: the rules governing correct or polite behavior in society in general or in a specific social or professional group or situation”
All sports have their unwritten rules and etiquette. Golf has always been a gentleman’s game. In fact it’s the only sport where you call penalties on yourself, and are expected to do so. With the onslaught of new golfers in the last several years, I’ve seen a lack of etiquette being shown fellow players on the course. It’s not intentional; some people just don’t know the etiquette. I understand that most people can’t wait to get out on the course and play. However I think that if you ask most golfers it’s more important that the players in their group know the etiquette then shot a low score. I know it means more to me. Because knowing and practicing good etiquette enables EVERYONE to have a more enjoyable experience on the golf course.
